CTZ.1.6.040 Citizenship (Enrollment) Committee to Review Applications

The Citizenship (Enrollment) Committee shall review all enrollment applications. It shall consider the information provided in such applications and all other relevant evidence as defined in Section CTZ.1.6.060 of this ordinance concerning the applicant's eligibility for Citizenship (Membership). The Citizenship (Enrollment) Committee shall then make a written recommendation to the Tribal Governing Board as to whether the application should be approved or rejected. Where the Citizenship (Enrollment) Committee needs additional information from an applicant, the Committee shall send the applicant or sponsor as applicable, a notice specifying that additional information is necessary to make a recommendation on the application. In doing so, the Committee shall explain that the applicant has six (6) months to provide the requested information otherwise the Committee shall make a recommendation to the Tribal Governing Board to deny membership for lack of a complete application. A sponsor may be the applicant's parents, legal guardian, next of kin, or other persons authorized to file Citizenship documents on behalf of the applicant as established in Section CTZ.1.6.060 of this ordinance.
