VEH.3.1.030 Purpose and Policy

The purpose of this law is to create a system for enrolled Lac Courte Oreilles members to register their motor vehicles exclusively with the Lac Courte Oreilles Reservation, for the issuance of Lac Courte Oreilles license plates to qualified applicants, and for the Lac Courte Oreilles Band of Lake Superior Chippewa Indians to regulate the public roads within its sovereign jurisdiction. It is the policy of this law to clarify jurisdictional sovereignty and to generate revenue for the Lac Courte Oreilles Band of Lake Superior Chippewa Indians.
